Andrea Marquez is an award-winning, Mexican-American storyteller. She currently serves as the producer and host of "This is Small Business," an Amazon podcast dedicated to inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs. Under Andrea’s leadership, "This is Small Business" has garnered seven industry awards, cementing its place as a trusted voice in the entrepreneurial space. Andrea was also recently recognized as one of Hispanic Executive’s 30 Under 30 Leaders in Tech, showcasing her impact and innovation in the industry.







Prior to her work with Amazon, Andrea created and hosted LatinEQUIS, a bilingual podcast aimed at motivating audiences to engage deeply with the Latinx community. During her time with LatinEQUIS, Andrea interviewed an impressive roster of notable Latinx figures, including Ellen Ochoa, Sonia Manzano, Enrique Acevedo, as well as U.S. government officials, artists, scientists, entrepreneurs, and industry thought leaders.
Andrea’s diverse career also includes a pivotal role as a marketing strategist at Cien+ and the Hispanic Communications Network, where she infused cultural intelligence into long-term strategies for influential clients such as Merck, Prudential, Pfizer, the CDC, UnidosUS, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Her work helped drive societal impact and strengthened brand connections with diverse audiences.
Earlier in her career, Andrea contributed to the entertainment industry by working directly with Marc Anthony, where she developed a rebranding strategy, enhanced communications, and engaged his global fanbase. She also served as a digital editor at A&E Networks, the parent company of AE Network, The History Channel, and Lifetime, and honed her storytelling skills as a freelance writer and production assistant in Texas and Mexico City. Her collaborations included projects with Netflix, Hulu, Televisa, Telemundo, the Secretariat of Agriculture of Mexico, and various other production companies.
Andrea holds a B.A. in Political Science and Theatre Directing from Columbia University and an M.A. in Journalism and Legal Studies from Harvard University. She is passionate about advocacy and community service, volunteering as a Child Advocate for the Young Center, serving on the board of the Patient Empowerment Network and Latinx Professionals, and reviewing books for various publishing houses like Penguin Random House, Hachette, Macmillan, and more. In her free time, Andrea enjoys reading, building LEGO, and walking her two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Shakespeare and Juliet.
